Will It Be Cotto vs. Mayweather?

   When Floyd Mayweather recently stayed at a luxury hotel in Isla Verde, Puerto Rico, and it was hinted that Floyd might hook up with WBA super welterweight world champion Miguel Cotto, fueling speculation that the the pair would meet to discuss a super fight between the two superstars. However, that meeting never took place. “A fight between Miguel and Floyd will be great for the sport and exciting for the fans around the world,” Bryan Pérez, Executive Director of Promociones Miguel Cotto told Fightnews.com. “Mayweather only have to say ‘yes’ to the challenge.”

Pacquiao - Mayweather Megafight Officially Off

   As for the 78-year old Top Rank boss Bob Arum, the fight that all boxing fans dying to see will have to wait for at least up to May 2011 as Floyd Mayweather's camp failed to beat the deadline Arum gave him.

   One speculated reason why Mayweather failed to sign the deal is because is uncle and trainer Roger Mayweather will go on trial in Las Vegas after he assaulted a female boxer he trains. As for Manny Pacquiao, his promoter Arum will start negotiating with either Miguel Cotto or Antonio Margarito next week, depending on who Pacquiao prefers to fight.




The Blogger Says: I think this fight won't happen anytime soon. Unless, Manny Pacquiao suddenly retires and if Floyd is still active after a year or two, I'm pretty sure that Floyd will call him out or, if Manny gets worn out by fighting all of top contenders out there except Floyd. Money Dominates Sugar

   Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr. just kept his record sweeter after his 12-round domination of "Sugar" Shane Mosley in their welterweight non-title fight yesterday at Las Vegas, Nevada.

   Two judges gave it 119-109 for Mayweather, while the other sees it 118-110 still for Floyd. Mosley and Mayweather got to their normal start at the 1st round until a Mosley right rocked Floyd in the 2nd. But from their on, Floyd dominated the rest of the fight by countering Mosley's offensive barrage. Shane Mosley, 38 (46-6, 39KO), though still got the heart, proved to be a lot much older and slower compared to his last fight 16 months ago against Antonio Margarito. While Mayweather, 33, (41-0, 25KO),stated “If Manny Pacquiao wants to fight, it is not hard to find me. We were going to make the fight a couple of months back but it didn’t happen. I take my hat off to Mosley. He had problems in the past but he’s a warrior. He took the blood and urine tests. I just want everyone to be on an even playing field. If every athlete is clean in the sport of boxing, take the test. If Manny Pacquiao takes the blood and urine tests, we can fight. If he doesn’t, we won’t make the fight." regarding to this awaited possible match against Manny Pacquiao.
