Mexican Omar Niño Romero successfully won the WBC lightweight belt yesterday after he won a 12-round unanimous decision over Filipino Rodel Mayol in a bloody fight at Mexico.
The fight favored for Mayol in the early rounds but Niño proved to be the stronger fighter as the fight goes on but had to be stopped for several times to check the cuts suffered by both fighter due to occasional head butts.
These two fighters also met earlier this year that ended in a draw after three rounds due to Romero's low blow and hard punch to Mayol that almost knocked him out.
